About Dr. Hutchins

Dr. Hutchins is both a licensed naprapath and a nutrition counselor. He has been in private practice since 1984, and has practiced in Buffalo Grove, Palatine, Arlington Heights, Lake Zurich, and currently practices if Fox River Grove,IL, within the offices of Michael Reilly, M.D.

How Dr. Hutchins chose Naprapathy

Dr. Hutchins began his interest in natural health while still in high school in the early 1970's. He led an active lifestyle including gymnastics, martial arts, weight lifting, bicycle riding, and backpacking. Nutrition was always an interest to Dr. Hutchins. At the age of 17, Dr. Hutchins began a vigorous interest in the practice of yoga, and through his experience with the stretching and postures, began to realize that he had created imbalances is his body's structure as a result of his strenuous physical endeavors. He realized that these imbalances were probably the result of various injuries and stresses he had suffered from his previous physical endeavors. He began searching for help on his road to correcting these imbalances. In 1978, Dr. Hutchins went for his first naprapathic treatment. He was impressed with the practice and decided to pursue his doctorate degree in naprapathy.

Dr. Hutchins graduated in 1983 from the Chicago National College of Naprapathy. He was awarded the prestigious Clinic Professionalism Award for outstanding conduct in patient care while an intern at the college. He has been in practice as a naprapath and nutrition counselor since 1984. Dr. Hutchins took an active part in the effort that led to the licensing of both naprapaths and nutrition counselors in Illinois. Dr. Hutchins is a certified by the National Board of Naprapathic Examiners.

Dr. Hutchins has been involved in the ownership and operation of several health food stores in the late 1970's and early 1980's, in addition to his naprapathic practice.
